“Sermorelin is a peptide that prompts your body to release its own growth hormone in natural pulses. It works through the same mechanism as tesamorelin, an FDA-approved peptide that's been shown to shrink visceral fat. Sermorelin itself has never been tested in a clinical trial so using it for weight management is experimental and off-label.”

Why GHRH agonists

Growth hormone declines with age. GHRH agonists help restart the signal.

The clinical trials described above studied tesamorelin. Sermorelin is a related but different medication in the same drug class. While both work by stimulating the body's own growth hormone production, sermorelin has not been tested in the same type of large clinical trials for belly fat reduction.

In a trial of 61 HIV patients with excess abdominal fat, tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by 42 cm² more than placebo (p = 0.005), with no significant change in subcutaneous fat.

Source: Stanley et al., JAMA (2014)

A separate 12-month trial of 60 non-HIV adults confirmed the same pattern: tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by 35 cm² versus placebo (p = 0.003), again with no effect on subcutaneous fat.

SERMORELIN MECHANISM OF ACTION

Stimulates natural growth hormone release.

Sermorelin prompts your pituitary gland to release growth hormone, supporting muscle growth, fat loss, sleep, and recovery.

Step 1

Signals pituitary gland

Sermorelin acts on cells in the pituitary gland, mimicking signals your body naturally sends to release growth hormone.

Step 2

Releases growth hormone

The pituitary releases your body's own growth hormone in its natural rhythm of pulses, the on-off pattern your body is designed to respond to.

Step 3

Supports metabolism

Growth hormone circulates to the liver, where it stimulates IGF-1 production. They work together to support increased muscle mass, fat loss, sleep, recovery, and tissue repair.
