Why GHRH agonists
The clinical trials described above studied tesamorelin. Sermorelin is a related but different medication in the same drug class. In a trial of 61 HIV patients with excess abdominal fat, tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by 42 cm² more than placebo (p = 0.005), with no significant change in subcutaneous fat.

A separate 12-month trial of 60 non-HIV adults confirmed the same pattern: tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by 35 cm² versus placebo (p = 0.003), again with no effect on subcutaneous fat.
